Finally got out on the water again. The fishing gods knew that I had all but abandoned them recently and so they treated me thusly. Still had a great time just being on the water again. Had my wife and kiddos with me and even though we only boated 5 fish in as many hours, everybody but me caught at least one. Fished everywhere from the marina down to Culp Island and then picked a couple small sandies up in front of the dam on Zara Puppies. would see a few fish surface and my wife and daughter would get in one or two casts before they disappeared again. Small sandies around 8in. long. It was fun watching them knock the topwaters out of the water. Ran up to Wolf Island and caught just three more fish including one little gaspergou that my daughter caught. Got back off the water around 12:30 and talked to a crappie fisherman who told me the sandies were schooling up the west arm of the lake near him all morning. Just my luck. Oh well we'll get them another day.
