On Lake Fork last Saturday. Started heaing a terrible grinding an thumping noise. Thank goodness only about 500 yards from the ramp. Idled back to the ramp and loaded up the boat. Took it back to Rockwall Marine. Found out the gears were shot, the shaft was bent and the prop was damaged. It went that quick. Anyway, called Progressive and filed an impact damage claim, Tommy knows how rough I am on boats and engines. Progressive came out today and cut Tommy a check for the repairs with no deductable since I had a policy with them for 6 years. That decreasing deductable does in fact work. I will post later if there are any problems with Progressive about additional expenses, but as of right now complete rebuild and no out of pocket expenses. Can't ask for anything more.

Everytime I sell a boat I mention Progressive when asked about insurance. For reasons mentioned, we have the same experiences here at our shop.

My boat, on the other hand, was insured thru AllState. Adjuster came to look at my boat the same day a Progressive adjuster came to see another boat. (both were at N. Tex. Fiberglass) Progressive customer had a check within 24 hours so work could begin. Me....3 months later we finally had a check so work could begin. Same type of damage and claims were very close in value.

I hear too many good stories with Progressive to refer to anyone else.

This is the first time that I have heard good news about Progressive. I have always heard horror stories about them. Its good to hear that they are doing their customers right.

For a while Tommy thought I was punching a time card and he was paying me, I was out there so often. My wife kept asking me about my part-time job at Rockwall Marine. I really enjoy just going out there and talking B. S. with those guys. They are just really great people. He always gets my boat out quick so that I will not come by and bug them. I think I'm almost as bad as JUDD.

I remember that. That was total BS on AllStates part.

I have Progressive insurance on my boat.
Fortunately I have not had to test out there claims policy.
I do like the "Total Replacement" of their policy which is why I went with them

God Bless,

Pumadon, I am glad you were so close to the ramp when that happened to you and your insurance company Progressive took care of you.

I am a Progressive Insurance Agent and insure several TFF boat owners from here.

Debra, I did my policy over the phone. Do I end up with a given agent at that time that is assigned to my policy or can it get moved around?

My previous boat had Progressive on it as well. On both boats now, they have had the best pricing of anyone else researched. They even have the policies on my vehicle.

I have Progressive and caught a stump earlier this summer. Took it to North Texas Fiberglass. 2'X8' area under the boat was repaired and the prop shaft was replaced and the prop was cleaned up no questions asked. Only had a $188 deductable, so I had a hot foot put in. Didn't understand why there was not one in this boat anyway.
