Anybody else thinking of going to the one being held on the Red River?

The deadline for signing up is Sept. 15.
One rod, artificial only, are you up to the ultimate challenge?

Actually, accepting the $325 entry will be the ultimate challenge since I'm cheap. laugh

I think I'm in though.

Wish I could get a 70 team turnout for cheap entry fee of $50.00.
Im not thinking this is gonna work at $325.00 entry and 70 teams required to make this happen. But who knows some people can just draw a crowd. flag

325 sounds like a bunch at first just because it is a big increase from all the local tournaments that most participate in.

However, if you have traveled to some of the other ACA or CAST tournaments that have 100-150 dollar entry fees you know that the cost of participation with travel, gas, lodging, meals and time are not sufficiently rewarded even if you are lucky enough to make the top 3 let alone the top 10.

325 for "admission" for 2 days of entertainment for 2 people isn't that bad really.

If you enjoy tournament crappie fishing and are looking for a challenge I think you'd regret not going.

Just my two cents, but I don't think $325 is bad if the payout is structured correctly. You generally get what you pay for.....

Well, after seeing the payout, I think I might just work that one into my schedule. It certainly has a solid sponsor and I like the 'one pole', 'no live bait' concept. That alone evens everything up.

One of the benefits of higher entry fees is that it knocks a lot of the local ringers out of the price range of competition. It evens out the playing field per se.

sounds like fun to me. I wouldnt have a problem with the $325 for the chance to bring home some bacon. I also like the idea of using one pole per person and no live bait. It will bring out the best fisherman.

Thats not a bad payout, I didnt realize it was a 2 day event so its not that bad. I wouldnt mine doing this,I just wish there were more details on what part of the Red River. Its a long way off to be collecting now and are they just going to hold our checks till next june? More details needed before I can mail my check. But sounds like a challange for everyone.
Greg thanks for bringing this to our attention. thumb

Can't get the entry form to download.
Looking for more info on the location. Don't have a crystal ball to see what else is going on that far ahead, but if all is clear I may just pack a ton of Jigum Jigs and hit the road. fish

Bill if you click the link above the payout listings it will direct you straight to the entry form and just print no download. Also there is a $50.00 membership fee plus $10.00 Big Fish pot which all adds up to $385.00 before fishing.
