Have fished the Gulf Coast from East Galveston Bay to Port Isabel/South Padre, but I have never fished the Sabine Lake/Pass area. I and two of my friends have decided it is time to give the flounder a try over there in mid to late October. I've been told that it is the best flounder fishing area on the Texas Coast, so I want to find out if that is true.
Any tips or suggestions on fishing the area will be greatly appreciated!

Hello Bill, I have been catching flounder along the La shore line and in the Sabine river up to 22" as of this morning. I do not fish with live bait, all of my fish have been caught on Texas Tackle "flats Minnow" and Berkley Gulp shrimp. The fish have been in 2-5ft of water. Hope this helps you.

Each year starting in Oct we drive from Austin to Sabine Lake, just for the flounder, almost weekly. I have driven down 13 weeks in a row......sometimes we get limits, sometimes we get skunked...but mostly we are happy with the amount we catch. Lit'l fishie works best for me, Good luck!!

Are you wading out there? Or off a dock? You don't have to be specific, just a little help, thanks

Hey, We usually fish around the pipes on the north levee, Keith Lake (going toward Sabine Pass), lake side the small piers. I use the 2 1/2" lit'l fishie made by creame lure co. 1/8th oz jig, and bounch off the bottom using lite tackle. Usually from the first of Oct until the last week they are mostly small. I have seen some 25"+ flounder come from the Keith lake cut..1st couple weeks of Nov..How do you attatch pics?
