Good ceviche too!

Years ago I was pipelining down in south Texas, living in a town called Freer. The finest Mexican food I have ever found was at a small place called "The American Cafe" on a side street just off the main drag through town. Don't know if it's still there since it's been over 22 years since I have been there. But to this day that is what I judge Mexican food by!

For the past 4 years I have been living in Southern California and you would think that with all the Mexicans living around here it would be a simple thing to find some really good Mexican food. Not true, I have yet to find a really good Mexican Food restaurant here!

When I get back to Texas in the near future, I think I'll drive down there and see if it's still there........... Dadgumit, I'm hungry now...

Susie,
Tameraria's is definitely a great place to go when fishing at Fork or Tawakoni, but it sure is difficult sometimes getting up at 4:00am in the morning after a long night of food and drink at your place. The margarita's can definitely get you crosseyed.

jaimes in seven points for any of yall coming from dfw is the best ive had. its a dumpy hole in the wall looking place. but the chimichanga with beef fajita and queso on top should be outlawed. you can also BYOB.

his brother alvero has a place in eustace and in malakoff called hernandez. its the same menu but not as good.

In San Angelo, the best Mexican Restaurant is in Spanish, that stands for "Better than Nothing". Thinks it is still there.

"Mejor Que Nada"

Closed down now... you are right, used to be good! It was closed a while, someone else opened it, was not as good, and is now closed again from what I hear.

It's a shame....
