Next time I'm down there I'll try florocarbon. that makes sense. Early morning makes sense too, plus you don't have to contend with crowd and you can watch all the fishing boats leave the harbor.

Thanks.

haha in gad to be back though. the sailfish is going to have to wait. right now i have a broken 10wt and a broken 6wt. so i have to replace them before i can but the rod for the sailfish. and hopefully it will be in october or november when me and my uncle go to cabo.

jnd: look for waves crashing off the shore. thats were it is shallow, i did some searching on the interenet. and learning to read the surf is like finding fish cover in a lake. if the waves are small and the are crashing somewhere. its going to be shallow. so wade out on that shallow part. and just cast. put some chum in a plastic baggy. and feed the bait fish. if theres baitfish. theres going to be big fish.

Sorry to keep asking questions but since the emerald coast is kind of like a second home to me I like to hear all I can about it.

did you catch the tarpon in the pass or offshore. I have suspected that the tarpon will move into the bay but I have never seen any. Then again, I can't recall fishing the bay very much.

I never thought about chumming while wading but it makes since. Most of the peglalics (sp????) are moving past the jetties looking for baitfish congregating there out of the current (I suspect) and if you can create a congregation of batifish you will quickly attract the other fish.

did the dolphins give you any trouble? I know they move in and out of there with some regularity but I think they move a little later in the morning.
