Have you done any mods to it or is that how you bought it?

i put the filter box in the top of it,the filters that went around the pump worked ok at best, but the filter box does a lot better job (for me) keeping the water clean.

That looks good, I'm curious about how your pumping the water to the top filter.. I have the 20 gal with the filters on the bottom

hey guys,
i have a guide who makes those tanks and uses them. they are a good tank for a few bait. hard to keep clean. also summer months they are not so good at staying cool but one spring "may" we kept 100 4in threadfin in 26 gal for 2-3 days no prob. gizzards keep way less regardless if they are small. my wife says the bait stinks worse than the fish lol.
also i always use the water the bait came from...even if it is muddy. i run the tank w heavy salt for an hour or two and bingo it clears up. change the poly and it's ready. cool the water if hot by frozen water bottles in the tank. if your desperate put ice in a waterproof bag etc.
thread vs gizzard. what time of year? somtimes the hit anything on a hook but they can also be very selective. in late april-june it's threadfin hands down. july-aug it's whatever you can get. sept-nov threads again. dec-march gizzards all the way and some perch in late march/april. now a big striper likes a big gizzard year-round so it depends what you want to try and catch.

We put those 10 inchers in the back well to keep them fresh till we use them for chum. eeks The salt is a must. They have water softner salt at Walmart in 40lb bags for less that $5. DO NOT use iodized(table) salt.

Just remember, clouding, foaming, and stinking water is a symptom of stressed bait. Better to find out what's stressing them than to treat the symptom. Happy bait equates to more bites. Hybrids just seem to like them better when they're smiling. grin

Now I know what why mine didn't last too long.. Gonna get water softener instead..

I have a WHOLE bag if you want some..... At my rate I won't use it up in the next five years bang

I use 3 cups in a 50 gal tank. It doesn't have to be exact.
