Yesterday I was on Twin Buttes which is up about 6' since Sat. I kept seeing something floating in the water. At first I thought it was some kind of trash or maybe gourd's. Finally pulled close to one and it was a ball of Fire Ants. Couldn't tell, but looked like they were riding a piece of trash I guess waiting for dry land to start a new bed. Some were small about the size of golf balls but some were as big as a softball. Amazing how some insects/animals survival instincts take care of them. Was on Amistad years ago after a big rise, found rabbits trapped in the tops of brush as well as lots of snakes. Didn't dare reach out to brush without first checking for what was in it.

I heard Proctor had the fire ant ball thing going on too. I guess nothing short of a nuclear explosion will kill those things...

Yup...it's a common thing when fireants get flooded out too quick for 'em to just relocate. I've seen it at the lake below my house when it floods. Also...it's really bad for bank fishermen b/c the mounds get washed away that are on "dry" land and the ants are EVERYWHERE.

Hate me some fireants. Woulda been fun to shoot em with lighter fluid and set 'em on fire. Give 'em a taste of their own medicine.

Two wheels or two reels, either way I'm happy.

Let's handle those bass better. Use two hands. M'kay? - How to Handle Bass
