I've got a 48 trip scheduled for Tuesday with Dolphin Docks out of Port Aransas. Who thinks that'll actually happen?

I live in CC and according to the projected path Dean will be making landfall somewhere around the northern part of mexico and the southern most part of texas. but then again i still think it is too far away to tell. tropical storm erin was right on top of us and we were expecting to get hit with a lot of rain but the storm shifted to the north at the last minute and we hardly got any rain so it is really hard to tell what the storm will do.

I went right before the storm and it was very calm.

I'd reschedule. Even if you get the trip in, it could be tough trying to get away from there.

H Longhorn your simple question is appropriate. As a local CC waterfront resident my recommendation to you is to reschedule the trip. Some of the best offshore fishing I have done was the month after Rita. We who live on the gulf make sure we have insurance and/or storm shutters and huricane construction. For a storm like Dean locals should get the heck out and away, and come back after the storm to do what has to be done to continue living and enjoying the great fishing out of PA etc.

By the way Group, the town in TX that Rita hit was completly wiped away. The people had nothing to come back to. Insurance doesnt fix that. Same with the people in La. and Miss. Those towns are still wrecked and the people who live their had their lives changed forever. I dont want my life to change.

Everyone take a chill pill, it is still way out there. No one is God and he is the only one that has a clue where it is going.. Maybe a little praying might help. To calm nerves and steer it away..

I HAVE MY FISHING (FLOATING CABINS) BUSINESS SOUTH OF BAFFIN BAY IN THE LAND CUT AREA. I HAVE TO GO DOWN TOMMOROW AND COME BACK TUESDAY BEFORE THE STORM (WHETHER IT COMES OUR WAY OR NOT ) WITH OUT ANY EXCUSES OR EXCEPTIONS. IT IS A RISK THAT IS TAKEN WHEN YOU LIVE ON OR OWN A BUSINESS ALONG ANY COASTAL REGION. I HOPE IT DOESNT HAVE A DIRECT IMPACT ON ANY OF OUR WONDERFUL TEXAS COASTLINE BECAUSE IT WILL BE HECKTICK FOR ALL INVOLVED. IT WILL COST LOTS OF CASH (AND HOPEFULLY NO LIVES), BUT WILL DEFINANTLY CHANGE LIVES OF THE FOLKS IN THE AREAS HARDEST HIT. LIFE IS FULL OF CHANGES SO A INDIVIDUAL MUST LEARN TO ADAPT AND FIND THE SILVER LINING TO EVERY DARK CLOUD. IT IS KINDA LIKE FISH'IN, EVERY TRIP YOU MUST ADAPT TO THE CONDITIONS/FACTORS TO BE SUCCESSFUL. IF IT TAKES ALL MY CABINS OUT SO BE IT, IT JUST MEANS I'LL HAVE TO SPEND SOME CASH AND HAVE BRAND NEW CABINS FOR RENT (THAT I DONT HAVE TO TEND TO AS MUCH AS THE ONES I HAVE NOW). I'LL BRING SOME PICS BACK AND POST UP PRE-DEAN AND (IF WE GET A HIT) AND I'LL BRING SOME BACK AND POST UP SOME POST-DEAN PICS. I HAVE TO GO BACK RIGHT AFTERWARDS TO SEE THE RESULTS (MY BANKER MIGHT BE HAPPY)OF WHAT MAY LAY AHEAD. I HOPE YOU GET YOUR JOB LOOPTYLOOP AND I HOPE EVERYONE ELSE HAS POSITIVE RESULTS OUT OF WHATEVER HAPPENS IN YOUR AREA. NO WHIN'IN HERE JUST LOTS OF DEEP THOUGHT ABOUT HOW I AM GOING TO NEED TO ADAPT.

For those of you that have been offshore right before a monster hurricane, is the fishing any good or any worse?
The latest Weather Channel's predictions are that it will hit Thursday AM-PM on the Texas coast if it doesnt hit Mexico.

I live in Corpus and if I was so worried about this hurricane, I would not be online and on TFF but instead boarding up my house and evacuating! I wouldn't be getting upset with others! I plan on fishing tomorrow, Monday, and maybe even Tuesday...guarantee there won't be many people on the water!
Fish on!

Looks like Dean is going to go towards central Mexico... let's hope this prediction is accurate!
