I haven't fished RC since last fall, but if I were, I would start out down near the dam, around the island and 309 flats. Look for other boats or schooling fish on top. I would use something like a 1/2 oz chrome RatLTrap or topwater or a humdinger for schooling fish and a chrome or chartreuse slab for deeper fish or fish on or near the bottom. Also, look for any diving bird activity in the area. Hope this helps a little. God bless.

Cut with her golden oars the silver stream,
And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

Since your not getting a recent report I will give you one from two weeks ago. We had a tough day and caught only 15-20 Sandies. We put in at the 309 flats ramp and fished the afternoon until dark. We got into small schooling on top east of the hump just ouside of the mouth when you come out of the ramp. Picked up a few by the lighthouse and fergusen point on slabs. Marked a bunch in several spots but couldnt get a consistant bite, The only place we did not go that I wanted to was Pelican Island. There was really no bird activity to speak of. Did not try hellpets though. I would rather not troll personally if possible. This was of those days I probably should of.

Good luck and let me know how you do. I would like to go again soon. The word I am getting is it is slow everywhere. Maybe the temperature change will help. I had a SE wind which is not a great indicator for me in the past.

We've been a little too busy to talk about fishing lately. Either Adam or I have been on the Lake everyday for the past two weeks, and we were both out Friday & today in the AM. Adam is even running a late afternoon trip as we speak. TOO WARM for me!!!:)

The fish are not on the Main Lake as you would expect in July and August. They're also is very little Topwater activity. This is not to say you can't catch fish, and on two days this week, my Customers had limited by 9AM. But...all our fish are coming on Slabs 10 miles up the Richland Arm on Points, Flats and in many cases in the Timber. Be careful...just had another gear replaced in my lower unit due to too much Stump Bumping.

Hopefully, the Main Lake area will turn on soon, and make fishing easier for the weekenders. In the meantime, we're enjoying the vacant Lake and having fish all too ourselves. smile

Watch for the Terns as they are working in the area described above. They're also working on the Main Lake, but it's what I call "Teaser Schools" that many fishermen chase, but never catch.

Next week the Calendar is much more open than booked. If you want to learn where and how to catch them on RC in a tough time, give us a call.

Good Luck and Good Fishin'!
