Stupid. Ban it or don’t. Guessing a major mfg of electronics drove BASS’ decision. Complete opposite % of their OWN ‘private’ survey.
No one but the youngs want FFS at the highest level. I’m an old so many will laugh. Ask around. If you know enough “pros”.

So dumb… either allow it or ban it. I could care less either way, just man up and take a stance and move on.
$$$$ always wins, Garmin has piles of it.

$$$$ always wins, Garmin has piles of it. Old timers should be thanking Garmin- payout would go down and entry fees go up without companies like Garmin.

Wishy-washy shows lack of leadership. So….are they gonna let ya use the a rig sometimes now? Gather information 30% of the time? It needs to be a straight up decision.

FFS is killing the tackle industry.
Does anyone on this board really want to see the tackle isles dry up to 8 or 16 feet in every store?
How do you think crank bait sales are or even plastics now that you can catch fish with a spinning rod and a minnow bait on a jig head?
They better do something or all the sponsor money will dry up.

They better do something or all the sponsor money will dry up. This is ignorant. Maybe the select few that have nailed FFS down- and it’s a select few, but every other bank beater- 90% of bass fisherman are still buying the same stuff. This is correlation not causation. Covid hit and everyone went on a buying spree- now they look down and see they have enough tackle to last a lifetime. I stock up on line, terminal tackle, soft plastics- and a few hard baits- unless you losing them they last a while.

Covid hit and everyone went on a buying spree- now they look down and see they have enough tackle to last a lifetime. I stock up on line, terminal tackle, soft plastics- and a few hard baits- unless you losing them they last a while. It's actually a reality that FFS is negatively affecting tsckle sales. I call on enough different shops in a few states to see it firsthand. Hardbait sales seem to be the most affected but all categories including rods are affected. I talk to enough longtime shop owners that know and understand the market to know FFS does affect the numbers. You might not want to believe that but I'm gonna take the people's word who make their living selling tackle. You can try to blame COVID, the economy or whatever else but when the leading categories of best selling tackle are FFS related then it is even more proof. I've been saying for a while that regardless of your stance on FFS that at some point the industry is going to push for some type of restrictions in professional tournaments because of the negative economic impact being felt. Garmin or the other electronics companies are not going to underwrite all 3 pro trails and pay every angler with money and or product. Currently there are very few anglers even on the highest level truly being sponsored by Garmin. Very few even get free product. They do offer discounts to some of the anglers but they are not sending everyone of them free up it's. Just a handful actually. I'd also be careful trusting the click bait gurus and their comments that Garmin is paying BASS under the table. Those guys get it wrong pretty regularly. The truth is usually in the middle. For instance there are rumors that Garmin will buy BASS and so on but yet just a couple of days ago BASS is highlighting Humminbird on their site. Does anyone really think Humminbird/Lowrance would stick around as a BASS sponsor if Garmin were paying BASS under the table and calling all the shots right now? All 3 electronics brands are currently BASS sponsors. https://www.bassmaster.com/top-video/video/humminbirds-eufaula-alabama-work-culture/

What reason is used for an FFS tournament and then a non-FFS tournament? I wonder if they will do no-FFS for smallmouth fisheries

Even if they ban FFS the ones with it will use it on practice days to locate fish and then go back tournament days to fish .Sad to see bass fishing come to this .

There are many accounts of people in the industry talking about sales of typical baits being way down. The transition toward spinning gear, light line, and minnows is a real thing.

You are chasing a boogeyman - sales are down in general. I know lots of guys that fish and they are buying the same style of baits today they did 10 years ago. You think banning livescope on a pro tour will change anything - how many baits to those guys buy? Billy Bob is gonna buy what works best- the cats out of the bag- if ffs works for an individual then they don’t give two craps if a “pro” tour bans it- they are still buying the lures that work for them.
