When I retired I was working nights. My only full day off was Saturday. I had to get every thing done in one day. About 6 months after I retired I was doing something when I realized I didn't have to do it today. I could wait until another day. Sure felt good to slow down.

A few more months and I'll get a taste of what it feels like. I ran across you I think on Facebook. Holy hell man you are retiring and your wife looks like she just graduated college. LOL. Good job on that one man!

congrats on your retirement and hope you ejoy it as much as i have mine... been retired 20 years this month and here are some observations on what it has turned me into..
here's some of life's little pleasures that come with being retired...(been retired 20 years this month)
1.no more having to get up and shave every morning...I never shave anymore, got one of those beard trimmers that I whack it back once a week or so... 2. never wearing a tie....wore one of those stupid neck decorations for many years...now I only got one left.... someplace in the closet and I have no intentions of ever wearing it....if a tie is required,I ain't going.... 3.blue jeans in the winter, shorts in the summer....got a couple pairs of khaki pants and a blue blazer for church, funerals, weddings and any visits to the White house. 4.freedom to take a nap anytime I please.... 5.wear crocs everyday...holey ones in the summer,un-holey ones in winter....my feet being comfortable is lot more important that what someone thinks of my footwear.... 6.I have reached the age where my wife has "no leverage" on me...for years I let her drag me around to places I didn't want to go to or do things I didn't want to do just to keep her happy....now she can get mad and stay mad and it don't bother me a bit (if you don't understand-just keep having birthdays and you'll figure it out)...... 7. and probably the most important...I can go fishing any day I want....and...I can not go fishing any day I don't want to..
