Driving home from Florida.
Last few trips were sort of sad because one of my favorite all time joints had closed down.
Well, butter my butt and call me biscuit, it's open again.
IF
You find yourself driving down 1 10
AND you're going east of Mobile
AND you might have a craving for some of the best seafood you've EVER had.
By the Bay market in Daphne Alabama.
I've had some pretty dang good poboys in my life. Not any as in ever were as good as the one these people make,

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

I've been at this travel thing a while.
When it's time to find a joint, a chain is never my first choice if possible. That said, made a few mistakes, got poisoned a few times, but the better than average rate is pretty dang good.

A few observations on not being disappointed:
Don't be the only vehicle in the parking lot. Worst service you'll ever get is when you're the only one there.
What to order? Every joint does something they believe is above average. That's what you want.
Eat what the cook wants to cook. If it's a steak joint, don't order fish. If you can't tell, ask, "what's good"? They'll tell you. ONE time I should have taken advice, ask the waitress at a joint in Trinity, what's good? The Mexican joint a half mile down the road....she was correct.

Would YOU pull into this place?

A few of my favorite restaurants on the way home from Florida are...

If you are heading through Orlando, BigFin Seafood. Upscale, and awesome! The swordfish steaks are 3 inches thick. www.bigfinseafood.com

In a suburb of Baton Rouge, Louisiana Bayou Bistro. Good down home Louisiana cooking. www.labayoubistro.com

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach
