Great panfish. They will hammer a small popper or other topwater on a fly rod.

I've been meaning to take a small spinning reel out to try the ponds.
I'm sure I'd probably still get small bass, which would put up a real fight on light gear!

I've been meaning to take a small spinning reel out to try the ponds.
I'm sure I'd probably still get small bass, which would put up a real fight on light gear!
...! Sunfish are a BLAST to catch on light tackle.  Side Note: You will be surprised what else you can catch. I have caught some "Mighty BIG" fish while "Perch Jerking"!
