Fellas

Fished private water for a long weekend and ran my 36v Ionic down all the way. Got home, charged it for a week. Ran it 2 days in a tournament and had issues getting it to charge. Ran out juice the last 30 min of the tournament.

I have hooked it up to the starter via cables, I have cleaned any corrosion (less than a year old), I have hooked it up to a trickle for a few minutes. Still can get the battery to wake up.

My charger in boat is the power pole charge, which is not recognizing the battery.

Is there anyone in Dallas that I can take this battery to? Bought the boat out of state so don’t have a dealer to help.

Can’t find an Ionic website or authorized dealer list.

Any help is much appreciated.

All you need is one of the following:

1) Lithium just started: Hook up, hit charge button, this should wake it up

2) Jumper cables from good battery to battery needing a wake up: connect / touch ends for a moment, this will trick the battery to wake up

I have had this happen to me multiple times. Jump it from another battery and it will wake up. For some reason by iconic charger wouldn't wake it up. My Noco will wake it up after a while. But when on the water I can get it to work by jumping from my trollling motor battery.

OP said it was a 36v battery. Can't jump it with a 12

Hmmmm, I didn't think it mattered that it was a 36v. Maybe we have a member close enough to you with a 36v battery that can jump it. Maybe you know someone with a battery powered cart?

If you have a friend with a boat or just happen to have 3 batteries laying around you can jump it with them.

My NOCO charger has a trick.

If you hold down charge button for like ten seconds it will recognize the battery and start charging it.

Make sure the Power Pole Charge is updated through the app. Also make sure the configuration and wiring is right to get a charge through all the connected batteries. Use the Power Pole technical line for assistance once your absolutely sure you’ve updated everything and verified the configuration.

It’s less time to be sure your right than dragging a boat across town to have them do the same thing. If that doesn’t work for you, then yes, get it to a qualified technician.

Update here

Pulled out my battery and jumped it off my 72v golf cart battery (one very sporty spark) and now it’s charging.

Lessons learned here.

-don’t run it all the way down
- why does my charger need to update (all my power pole stuff is great but updates on my Tm and charges are frustrating)
- maybe 3 batteries are better than 1

Thank you all for the help
