Well, Tyler Williams is a single fella, I don’t see his mommy screaming like a wack job at the weigh ins.

This whole deal is stupid. I just watched the nfl draft and there were plenty of Mom's and Dad's screaming like whack jobs when their kid got drafted. I'm pretty sure that 90 percent of the problems with fishing are the people who watch the stuff. In this day and age of fd up families, divorce, etc the fact that a kid has a parent supporting him or that a kid has his parents on stage when he achieved a dream of his should be celebrated. Some of you need to get way over yourselves.

We shouldn’t compare NFL athletes to Bass fisherman, and this is one of the reasons why.

There are plenty of young men out there, completely obsessed with fishing, that come from loving (but not wealthy) families, sometimes not even that, families that don’t want to fund the excessive cost of fishing, that we never see compete because they don’t have the means. Could they make it work without mommy and daddy maybe, but it’s a much riskier, completely different ball of wax.

There are way more stories of NFL players coming out of no where, I’m not saying it hurts to come from money, but there is opportunity for nearly every single kid whose parents allow them to play. How many short documentaries have you seen of a player that comes from literal poverty and becomes a hall of famer, many examples, because the NFL is the utimate meritocracy. This is why, to me, when I see an NFL player on stage hugging his parents, it’s different.

I hope little Trey finds himself a girlfriend, whoever she is, she’ll have stiff competition for the 1 spot.

I’ll stick to following the young men that come from loving families like Justin Hamner and the like, there is a distinct difference, I can tell some on here can’t see that, it’s all good

cheers

I Agree!! Plus the one's screaming the loudest and insulting everyone with this opinion are the one's who could never compete without it!!!

The obsession over Trey/parents has turned very creepy in this thread.

OK so it's ok for NFL parents to scream and hug their kids at the draft, we shouldn't compare that...... you ever been to a college graduation when a mom and dad jump up in the stands when their kid walks across???? Happens non stop, my nephews law school graduation sounded like a sports event..... ill just let you be in charge of what parents get excited about and how they react. That sounds like a productive use of your time. Lolz

Correct comparing bass fishing to the NFL, MLB, NBA, or NHL so be avoided. There is pretty much zero comparison.

Let’s focus on the real dawg and champion of bass fishing. Meet Easton Fothergill.

https://www.simmsfishing.com/blogs/the-plug/remember-this-name-easton-fothergill

Stay tuned. he’s legit, and HUMBLE.

Also, His girlfriend is in law school, I hope he goes bonkers at her graduation, I’m sure he will.

Ya'll do realize the issue with Trey's mom isn't really about her cheering for her son? right?
It's mostly about her screaming at the tournament director and the staff in front of everyone last year when he was dq'd! That's the part that doesn't have a place in a professional level event!

Have you ever tried it , its a lot harder than most think you can always see fish but you still have to make them bite.

Some people like to share opinion on the topic at hand, while some of yall would rather share opinion on those discussing.

It’s not hard to see the few of you all that would rather take their shots at me or others rather than the topic at hand. Who’s trolling who here exactly? I’m not here calling you names.

I have nothing against anyone who doesn’t have the same opinion as me on a topic.

You've just describing every activity in life... They are millions of young people obsessed with every sport/ activity imaginable that don't have the means or backing... Have you seen the cost of playing hockey, tennis, golf, figure skating, motor sports racing???... But you know what... If you're obsessed, if you show a little talent you can make it... Sure some slip through the cracks but again that happens in every sport, every walk of life... How many kids have the grades and aptitude to become a lawyer, an engineer or doctor but because mommy and daddy don't have the money, or are just at the income level they don't qualify for grants and student loans. They can't swing the cost of 4-7 years in college... I know of a couple of guys in high school that had the grades to get into an engineering school but their grades weren't quite high enough to get scholarships, mom a dad income level was too high to qualify for grants so they took other paths...

Every sport at its highest level is a meritocracy... They are all a "what have you done for me lately" profession... If the young gun scopers don't perform and fail to re-qualify they'll get the boot just like the old guys... Mommy and daddy's money won't mean dang thing... Dan

Sometimes it is hard to make them bite! The DIFFERENCE is every single cast u make is at a fish! No other tech has ever allowed anything close!
