I've seen their High School All American Team... Is it BPT/ MFL... or NPFL??? Or some independent organization???... Is it that complicated for a simple answer???... Dan

Depends where you live. In Texas there are a few large high school organizations B.A.S.S. and MLF also does it.

Some semi random thoughts, no matter what it sounds like in previous posts I’m not against all the youths. 2 in particular make it hard for me to root for though. I have to like Tyler Williams, he throws a jig and those of you that know me know why and the Easton F. Story is just too good. McKinney and Smith just started out with too much baggage for me. Throwing 4# lbr’s over your shoulder on tv doesn’t sit right, if that makes me a grumpy old man so be it. Have some respect for the sport, if I saw any of y’all doing it I wouldn’t think much of it either. Having someone hole sit for you and then denying you even know the guy, that shouldn’t sit right with anyone. My son had a fairly decent college fishing career, I have a picture of 5 teams on stage at the National Championship that were fishing the final day and besides he and his partner there were the Lee boys,Matt & Jordan and some guy named Dustin Connell, not bad company. My wife & I made the playoffs tournaments, but at no time would I have thought about sharing the stage and taking any of the spotlight off my son. Helicopter, LL baseball, travel ball parents whatever you want to call them are the worst out there. They are succeeding through their kids. As far as time on the water, you darn right it makes a difference. Nothing and I mean nothing replaces TOW! Money and TOW can definitely make a huge difference!

Almost everybody that participates in this sport brings along somebody to support them. If they are single mom and dad and if the are married the wife and kids, engaged GF and mom and dad. If I got to this level my wife would be there for sure.

Well, Tyler Williams is a single fella, I don’t see his mommy screaming like a wack job at the weigh ins.

The crazy thing is with professional bass fishing, whether you agree or disagree, the sport “or game” whatever you want to call it…. Eliminates a lot of its spectators and participants. Professional bass fishing needs to stabilize its game and implement these changes gradually.

For the biggest part Football, basketball, baseball, golf, and hockey have relatively stayed the same over time. Yes, they have all changed somewhat but not at the same rate fishing has changed.

I think professional fishing is after the sponsorship money more than the integrity of the sport.

This whole deal is stupid. I just watched the nfl draft and there were plenty of Mom's and Dad's screaming like whack jobs when their kid got drafted. I'm pretty sure that 90 percent of the problems with fishing are the people who watch the stuff. In this day and age of fd up families, divorce, etc the fact that a kid has a parent supporting him or that a kid has his parents on stage when he achieved a dream of his should be celebrated. Some of you need to get way over yourselves.

Exactly, who wouldn’t celebrate their child achieving something that most will never experience. I pray that my child has a better & more profitable life than I’ve lived.

I'm going to turn 69 in a few months and I love FFS. That's all I'm going to say.

Well said Wawi I can't believe any one thinks that their family supporting them is stupid/bad/dumb etc is crazy I supported my kids and now my grand kids my whole family were screaming 2 years ago when my oldest grand daughter hs team qualified for the state softball finals , I don't get it.

I am concerned FFS will be the death of the sport/activity we love.

It is killing the tackle industry.
Making experience and learning about bass habits obsolete.
Putting new pressure on a bass population where there was none.

Love it or hate it, I believe it is here to stay and will eventually destroy what a the few on this forum tried so hard to protect. For the life of me, I cannot see one benefit to FFS other than big fish are easier to catch.

Maybe I am completely wrong, but time will tell.
