Who are these guys talking to? Maybe it started somewhere else, but I've seen Patrick Mahomes yelling it. The difference is he's on the field with 10 teammates, 42 other guys on the bench, and a coaching staff.
A fisherman is competing by himself. Who is he telling to "go"?

I thinks its a specific sports thing... If it's a team sport (football, baseball, basketball) it's "Let's Go... If it's an individual sport (golf, tennis, wrestling) it's "Lets Go"... Dan

Guys are excited for catching fish and trying to win big money. I enjoy their excitement. Reminds me of when I was younger. There's nothing more to it than that right there. Just enjoy seeing people being happy, it won't hurt.

No different than the guys that say stuff like:
"Let that soak in." They're trying to sound deep and philosophical, but it's just a lame catch phrase.
Unfortunately, a lot of people don't think much before they speak. They just repeat stuff they hear others say or read online.

Winning a fishing tournament, big or small, local or at any level, is always a blast. If you’ve never experienced it, well… that’s unfortunate. Really. It's so much fun!
But the best part? Oh, it's not the money, who cares about that? It's the sheer comedy of watching someone pout all the way back to the boat ramp because they didn’t win. That bitter, tight-lipped scowl, Pure gold!
I sleep like a baby knowing some guy is driving home furious over a dumb fish.
