With these older engines, if it's not running right don't continue to run it. Get it fixed right away. They typically give you warning signs when something is wrong. They typically run best when they are used more so enjoy.

2 happiest days of a boat owner.
1- The day you buy it 2- The day you sell it
Congrats, be sure you always have a thousand in reserve.
Break Out Another Thousand

Howdy y'all, I finally pulled the trigger on a bass boat. I purchased a (new to me) 1999 Skeeter zx202c with a 99' 200HP Yamaha VMAX. Picked it up Tuesday afternoon after I got off work and took her for a spin with my father. Yesterday, Wednesday, a couple of buddies and I took her out for her maiden bass fishing voyage. Hitting the typical spots on Hubbard, we didn't do too bad. Luckily enough for me, I caught the first bass in the new boat, and the big bass for the evening weighing in at a whopping 2.8lbs. I'm super excited about the boat and look forward to making many great memories. I have been a lake rat and on Lake Ray Hubbard since quite literally two weeks after I was born. If anyone has any recommendations for driving a bass boat (I have ridden in many, but have typically only driven a center console), I would greatly appreciate it! Additionally, I would love it if y'all would recommend some essentials you keep in your boat. Some items I already have are a net, scale, weigh bag, pliers, scissors, buoys (with rope obviously), an extra rope, and a couple other items I cannot currently think of. Anyways, I will attach some pictures of the boat below! I also run a YouTube channel, BassCatBrothersTV with one of my good buddies. Now that we do not both have a Basscat, I feel the need to rebrand; therefore if anyone has any recommendations, I would love to hear them. TLDR: I bought a boat, looking for boat tips and essentials, and a possible rebranding of my YouTube channel. Thanks for the read, tight lines! I have a white boat and wipe her down after every trip. Get a set of microfiber towels to rotate.
Roll of duct tape and electrical tape. Ya never know.
Tow strap. That’s an old motor you never know when you may need to be towed or to help someone else. Before I repowered I had to be towed once. Came in handy.
Bug spray and sunscreen. I also bought a cheap Frogg Toggs rain suit that has come in handy if I forgot my shell.
Have fun and be safe !

Or you might need to strap your boat to the Trailer if your winch stand breaks, like this today ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/05/full-101963-269250-20250508_170717.jpg)
