Howdy y'all,

I finally pulled the trigger on a bass boat. I purchased a (new to me) 1999 Skeeter zx202c with a 99' 200HP Yamaha VMAX.

Picked it up Tuesday afternoon after I got off work and took her for a spin with my father. Yesterday, Wednesday, a couple of buddies and I took her out for her maiden bass fishing voyage. Hitting the typical spots on Hubbard, we didn't do too bad. Luckily enough for me, I caught the first bass in the new boat, and the big bass for the evening weighing in at a whopping 2.8lbs.

I'm super excited about the boat and look forward to making many great memories. I have been a lake rat and on Lake Ray Hubbard since quite literally two weeks after I was born. If anyone has any recommendations for driving a bass boat (I have ridden in many, but have typically only driven a center console), I would greatly appreciate it! Additionally, I would love it if y'all would recommend some essentials you keep in your boat. Some items I already have are a net, scale, weigh bag, pliers, scissors, buoys (with rope obviously), an extra rope, and a couple other items I cannot currently think of.

Anyways, I will attach some pictures of the boat below! I also run a YouTube channel, BassCatBrothersTV with one of my good buddies. Now that we do not both have a Basscat, I feel the need to rebrand; therefore if anyone has any recommendations, I would love to hear them.

TLDR: I bought a boat, looking for boat tips and essentials, and a possible rebranding of my YouTube channel.

Thanks for the read, tight lines!

I'd also like to give a huge shout-out to Jeff Ward with Classic Boats in Wylie. He made the entire process stress free and was willing to put up with the plethora of questions I had. If you're looking to get into boating, or would like a new boat, he is the guy to go to!

Congratulations on the boat and the new adventures that await you!

Meh on the YouTube plug, but I wish you well with it.

Some suggestions for essentials are:
small first aid kit
Jumper cables
Small tool kit and prop wrench.

Nice boat and congrats!

Looks like a good buy. The smile says it all.

Launched a few times at that ramp. The rip rap / bridge area along there holds some good ones.
