Nice Smallie for sure. I saw you (Prosise) hiding over there against the dam. I went by the rock ledge hump but didn't stop to check the sandies. You were the only trailer parked @ Farris in the morning. Lost a 4lb LM bass at the boat on Murrell point close to shore. Lots of little sandies for me at Murrell and the Island. Not really a good day for me on GV. Went west to Meadowmere, just to look around, but it is muddy out west.

I went to meadowmere mouth before sunrise, it was so thick in bait that it looked like soup. Bass fishing in this is tough, as there's no need to feed in these areas when their tummy is full. Wasn't seeing hardly any bait on rock ledge, nor the dam but there was a ton of fish there. I was fishing for the green fish, and doing allot of playing with the sandbass. Day really turned out nice when the wind calmed down & sun came out.

I used it last week with the boat but the water has come up a bit I was just bank fishing yesterday but surprised it was still open.

I sure hope lake stays open and fishing doesn't get too messed up
Boat is going in for maintenance this week but my mother in law wants whole sandies, she'll have to make filets and catfish work

Don't eat the black bass on grapevine.
Trust me.

Fished today from 7 - 2:30. Since I put in at Ferris Branch, I checked Sand Bass Point fist - I found nothing. I then headed to the corner of the dam and came up empty there as well. I worked my way down to Rockledge Park and just as I got there, I found a few fish. In this picture you can see the spot with the road in the park acting as a reference. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/05/full-122440-269613-20250512_small2.jpg) While I did catch several fish there, almost all were just about 9 inches. This one was a bit better but overall they were small. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/05/full-122440-269614-20250512_better2.jpg) Next I went to Murrell Point/Flats. There were several boats there already and it looked like they were catching a few fish. I caught a couple but it was slow. And the fish were small. It must have been slow for the other folks as they left one by one. Heck, even the wake boat that had been going past left. I headed to a brush pile to look for crappie which kept me busy for a while. I headed back to Murrell and there were no boats there. I dropped the trolling motor and forward facing in and saw this ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/05/full-122440-269615-20250512_graph2.jpg) Actually, there were more fish but by the time I got my phone out, they had moved. Anyway, I was able to catch fish there for the next hour or so. It was definitely not a fish on every cast but it was decent fishing. And there was a mix of sizes and every once in a while you would get a pretty good one. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/05/full-122440-269616-20250512_good_size2.jpg) After fishing dropped off at Murrell, I headed down to Twin Coves, the humps near the Crusher, and the island and found nothing. I went back to Murrell and caught just 3 more so headed to the ramp. An OK day for sure but nothing to write home about.
