My machine is running win 11, but I daily remote into win 10, win 7 , server 2008 r2, server 2012, 2016,2022,and recently a server 2025 machine.
Win 11 is a new look, kinda like win 8 was an all new look. I could do without it, but it has been forced down to us.
Under the hood, security changes in win 10 and 11 have ruined database sharing and made my job role transform from trouble shooting product based issues, to working with networking and IT teams to keep integration online.

Now I'm beginning to think the keyboard lag is a RAM issue. Checking a wired keyboard today to see what it does. So far no problems with it.

The wired keyboard will tell you if you were getting interference on your wireless keyboard. Sometimes setting a bluetooth or wifi device such as a smartphone too close to your wireless keyboard or mouse will cause issues. Other 2.4Ghz wireless devices can cause interference as well.

When I switched to a wired keyboard my CPU usage went from 40% to about 8%. That seems like a lot for a keyboard / mouse.

I wish they'd go back to the old DOS system.

Weren't we told Windows 10 was going to be the last one......and they were just going to bloat build on top of it in perpetuity?

Windows 7 is/was the GOAT

Everything after 7 is designed around tablets and other girly children devices.

That's like saying, 'Resident Evil' was the best and I agree.

Planned/forced obsolescence was getting hard to manage. Build 9924Z4.3.14159265359 was confusing some folks.

A word of advice to all that login with a PIN or Password who are not managed by some IT dept

Get yourself a flash drive at least 2gb, and make a password recovery disk.

Very wise advice

And make copies of any files you never want to lose.
