Hello TFF - Lots of options for towable boat covers. Looking for feedback on experience with brands you have used that didn’t break the bank and handled well on a long haul while towing. Looking for a towable boat for an 18ft skeeter zx180. Much appreciated …thanks !

Dowco Marine for me. Go on-line, give them your boat info, they have all of the measurements and they won't break the bank. Ratchet cover will last you for many years. Check them out.

I had Aurora covers for my Skeeters, great covers for towing. Had a custom cover built for my current Triton.

Bought an Aroura for the boat I just sold. It looked pretty decent for the money.

I bought one from empire for a good price. I’ve been really happy with it. I only use it for towing in bad weather though.

Aurora wanted over $1200 (Im sure the quality is there) and Empire site didnt work for me...but thanks for the recommendations. I ordered one from Boat Covers Direct for $350. Boat is gonna get hauled around 1500 miles. We'll see how this low priced boat cover holds up to all those road miles....keep you all posted !!!

Cinch it down REAL TIGHT, and make sure the straps have a single twist in them. Tight will keep it on the boat and less likely to rip (sounds counter intuitive, but it is what it is), and the twist in each strap will keep them from flapping from the wind blowing across them like a reed in a saxophone mouthpiece.

Go to Home Depot or Staples and get a roll of Stretch Wrap. When I tow my boat with the cover on I put two layers of the stretch wrap on before putting the cover on. It helps prevent scuffing marks where the cover may rub on the gelcoat... After you tow for a while you'll notice where the wind hits. When I stop I'll reinforce those areas with packing tape... Following. I'm in the market for something in that price range. Curious how it holds up.
