Saw that some Mississippi Kites are back in our neighborhood. Much earlier than last year.

I have Bald Eagle roosting real close, saw her yesterday for the first time, but have been hearing her a lot last few evenings, haven't spotted her nest yet though.

Interesting observation, I had a bald eagle pup hanging around the field, been a while since I heard/saw her, along with my neighbors chickens

We had a few Carolina Chickadees flying through last week, but I haven’t seen them since. We have an owl of some sort, I’m guessing hoot owl, that hoots all friggin night sometimes. Whippoorwills and bobwhites too. And turkey

I like listening to the Bobwhites, they never have made a comeback in East Texas.

Whippoorwills are cool too, but nocturnal

Thursday I saw a roadrunner carrying a snake across the fairway at the golf course I was playing. I've also seen them do that before with lizards and bugs. Yesterday afternoon I saw something I have never seen before. 2 Bluejays were trying to get something in the grass just off of the back porch. I thought it was a bug. No, it was a snake about 10" long. The one jay was very intent on killing it which it did and then flew off with it.

Had a Mississippi kite and a downy woodpecker today.
