If you are not opening the door a lot to let warm air in, things will stay cool in there for several hours. The more stuff in your fridge, the longer it will stay cool. If you only have mustard and leftover chinese from last night, then you may want to run and get a bag of ice.

4 hours for the fridge. Something like 48 hours for the freezer. After that, it's said the food will have gone bad.

No. Do not open the door. The times above are with never opening the door.

If it doesn't come on soon. You can do the bag of ice in a cooler.

What temperature is its maximum before it’s bad? The refrigerator is set at 35-38, it’s not getting above 50 for a few hours

I would think it will be fine. Once I start a new pen I can keep it on my night stand at room temp.

Always have frozen milk jugs in freezer to prolong cold when power goes out.

While it won't help you now you might want to buy a thermometer that is bluetooth enabled and keep it with your insulin so you can track the temperature.

I put the thermometer and my medicine in a water tight container while traveling so I can monitor the temperatures of the ice chest and hotel mini refrigerators.

I have 4 frozen jugs in the freezer and 6 jugs in the refrigerator. The power goes out a lot around here. A huge bag of ice is cheap. It's raining here currently.

Hopefully, the OP's power will come back on soon and mine stays on.

Yep. I popped myself with a pen that was in my toolbox at work for a month. I survived.

Put in the beer cooler. The two go together like peas and carrots.
