Neighbor is adding 12 more speakers to his ride. He's a Ford mechanic. He's let me experience the current system and it will rattle your teeth.

He does it right. Sound deadening all over the place. Not a single rattle in the entire car. The sound is concentrated inside the passenger compartment. It's not that loud outside the vehicle.


And Damn....the bass speakers he's running. You need ear muffs to sit in the car at the halfway mark on volume. He's serious about his audio.

This will put his bass speakers to the test!

I asked him his favorite song. He's a younger guy. But this is what he plays for the bass effect.

I've been wondering how it's all done. He's in the cutting the MDF board stage. Using a cardboard pattern he made from the inner door structure. The MDF mounts to the steel, the speaker to the board.

He probably has $3000+ in new gear.


He's in his middle 20's, single, and enjoying life. I leant him some tools, saw. I'm looking forward to experiencing this. All I wanna do is sit in the car one time. See what it's like.

Back in the mid 80's when I was in high school, the body shops teacher had a son who competed on some kind of car audio competition circuit. Had a Chevy truck with the back of the cab and front of the bed cut out. He had 16 -fifteen inch subs ( in a W pattern) and some ungodly amount of amps pushing everything, mounted to the back of the boxes he built. He'd come into the shop to work on it and give us a treat every once in a while, knock the dust off the rafters. Had a custom painted tailgate with the name of the truck. "Bedrock"

We always did our own stereo installs. 4 Jensen triaxels, 2 in the rear deck and one in each door and a 150 watt power booster. I’m sure it wouldn’t sound that good against today’s technology, but I’m a lot deaf because of it

He's cutting steel now. I told him I'd figure one door a day. It's a 4 door car. Three speakers each door. Tweeters, mids, and lows.


He wants voice clarity that matches the bass intensity. That's at least how I understand it. With all the hardware to tune each individual speaker. He really did go all out.

He wants the car to stay factory on the outside. Factory rims, tires. You'd never believe it'd have the sound system is has and will have.

It's... I guess you could call it a, 'Sleeper'. He doesn't want anyone to know he has it until he cranks it up.

He has a gas grill. He also had a stuffed pork loin in the freezer. Wrapped in bacon, stuff inside. To do it proper. I'm going to grill it for him. Pecan for smoke. Crushed black pepper on top.

His gas grill is a nice one too...Ugh..
