The Ranch House is good. Haven’t been there in a while but Terry Bradshaw used to eat there a lot. Often enough that he was just part of the crowd. Occasionally a kid would get his autograph and he was cool about it. He was shaking my wife’s hand one day and she copped a feel of his bicep. She said he “still had it”. 😁

The Catfish part was on 35 at first and it was called Catfish Louie's . At the Ranch House i just get the Catfish all you can eat , i don't do the buffet , haven't been since all the work on the highway started

Can’t recall a time I’ve gotten fried fish from a restaurant.

The best fish fry is at home and it isn’t done with catfish.

I air fried some yesterday. Lake Lewisville provides. Caught these from the bank hiding underneath a picnic shelter as the storms rolled through.

The blues are awesome. The channels are so so. I soak the nuggets in buttermilk and ice for 3 or 4 hours before cooking... Not sure it does anything, but that's what my dad always did.

Now everyone knows you're not allowed to sell game fish, but if you could I would guess wild, all natural, line caught, hours fresh catfish fillets would be worth $20 a lb these days.

If you can’t recall ever haven eaten fish from a restaurant, how in the world would you be able to compare it against anything and declare fish at home is the best? I now understand your irrational nfl draft/racism posts. You just know things evidently.

For the record, I never said anything that happened to Shadeur had anything to do with racism.

You’re trying to tell me a farm raised channel cat holds a candle to a mess of fresh crappie or walleye? C’mon now, yes, I know the answer and so do you.

Depends on how/who cooks it. I have had crappie that was not as good as some catfish I’ve had and vice versa…. As far as my preference goes, crappie and catfish are interchangeable…..I won’t turn either down.

You may not have hit the racism target, but you shot all around it.

I need all the help I can get!

And I pray over the fish while I send them to their Happy shad hunting grounds.

*I did make that stringer myself, I did not use rosary beads. I think they came from Hobby lobby.

Farm raised fish is garbage. Be it salmon, catfish, tilapia, etc. all sub par compared to their wild brethren.

I have to say those pieces from about 3-6 o’clock in that bowl probably didn’t taste as good as the rest. What is “sweet bay bass” when you google that, it talks about California.

3 to 6 in the strainer is the channel, its good. If I spent more time cleaning it it could be very good. Getting that red meat out helps. But I don't mind it.

6 to 3 is bluecat, it's excellent. Just bleed them out before cleaning and they are best eating freshwater fish IMHO. I like fresh trout as runner up.

I think it’s the hello strip on top of the channel fillets that give the not so good taste, no?
