Rodriguez is scratched. He was a big part of my bets. Probably the best muddier in the field. Now we get Baeza who should run well.

How do you even start knowing who to bet on? The Derby is crazy to bet on and isn’t your typical betting scenario. For beginners I tell them to bet the jockey rather than the horse. Typically the best jockeys get the best mounts.

I have been having a little fun with friends. I have a mint garden. Normally by this time I have 15 feet of four types of mint exploding. Right now I'm not sure if I have enough mint to make a decent Julip.
Not that it really matters, I have to work Saturday. And I don't like Bourbon. I would make a ceremonial Julip, have a couple sips and dump the rest.

How do you even start knowing who to bet on? No one can properly handicap a 20 horse race, especially now that they are going to be running in the mud. If you think you can you're kidding yourself. If you want to go place a wager for fun take your favorite horse and bet it to show. If it's 10-1 or better you will usually at least double your money.

I am going on the 1 & 7 Along with a 6 horse 10 cent Superfecta box That’s a $30 wager that could pay in the thousands

Also I will say that these muddy derby’s always favor the best horse. Rarely will you see one where a fast out of gate or strong finisher wins. Not saying it won’t happen or hasn’t, just usually the best horse slugs through. I really think this is the most honest live action sport you can bet on, not getting into shady stuff before gates open. Bet on who can prevent your horse from winning

I miss going to Oakland Park when I coached there. Had some great memories and bad from trying to handicap back then.
