We sat in the first row up from the upper deck railing a few years ago at an Astros game. I remember wondering if anyone thought that was going to keep someone from going over. I also reminded myself not to reach for a baseball if it was hit near us.
I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often.

Absolutely terrible. My prayers are for him to make a full recovery and for those that saw it happening live. I will not watch the video. I have a client that plays for the Pirates and I know it was hard on the players to see it...Can't imagine how hard it must have been for his family and/or friends.

I was at the rangers game several years ago when the fireman fell from section 330 down into section 30. I was in section 31 and witnessed the entire thing firsthand. I still wished I hadn’t seen it. I don’t know how he ended up, but he was waving and moving a little bit when he was being stretched off.

That was Shannon Stone and he did not make it, unfortunately.
