yeah for sure. The shoreline looks like central texas though. Rocky with some brush. LBJ has lots of boat docks/houses, but up the lake there's lots of areas that look like that. Inks has no boat docks, and is a state park, and many central texas guides consider it a hidden lake with huge bass. I think it had a sharealunker last year. It could also be Buchanan too. I'm just randomly guessing.

I think a lot of the central texas lakes are underrated.

If Inkls has no boat docks then what were those floating things I was skipping flukes under this past weekend? confused 3
Inks has plenty of boat docks.

You'll note Larry wasn't the one who posted this bragging. Larry chases giant fish because it's an obsession of his. It's not just bass but most sport fish species. He goes to the best places on the globe and fishes with the most knowledgeable folks he can find. Sometimes those are guides, sometimes they are not. He's currently fishing Havasu for giant sunfish with some regular guy he found on Facebook who was posting pictures of giant fish!

He also sometimes goes months with terrible luck. Bad trips, bad weather, it doesn't matter how much money you throw at it, the fish still have to bite. Lord knows him and I have been skunked more than once fishing on the best water with the best guides. (I've also caught the biggest musky of my life fishing with him!). Anyway, he's a friend of mine, so I'm defending him here. He's a great guy. Loves to fish. If you love fishing, you'd get along great with him as well. His passion for the sport is contagious.

From Minnows to Marlins was one of my favorites reads. Seems like I read the entire book in one sitting.

Larry seems like someone I would have a margarita with & just listen to the stories.

I started this thread bragging on Larry and it is a public lake. I've only known Larry and the Walker Family for 40 years. Larry is truly one of a kind. He has more passion for fishing than anyone I know and I know a few fishing-crazy folks!

In years past seemed like bed fishing off a giant platform on the front deck was frowned upon around here. The videos I’ve seen are of the clients on the platform working fish that otherwise they’d never see from far enough away to be able to catch. Not a legal catch in a tournament, but perfectly legal, just curious if the general consensus is that the giants caught on a platform off the bed are less of an accomplishment?

Work smarter, not harder. As mentioned, it’s not illegal and they were not fishing in a tournament, in my opinion, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being elevated and takes nothing away from his accomplishment.

Flats boats have done it for decades, nobody finds it wrong there.

Again, my opinion.

Fishing off a ten foot ladder is similar to using live sonar while power poled scanning for big bass on beds……you will find fish you wouldn’t see otherwise.

Anyone remember “Ladder Man” on Fork? Lotta folks used to bad mouth the guy. I thought it was pretty smart and put a 3’ step ladder on the deck of my Skeeter during the spawn. It was awesome!

A friend of mine had a 4’ platform on his Skeeter bay boat. It was awesome for sight fishing. Never knew it was looked down on.

I watched a kid stand on top of his engine barefoot working one off the back of boat. He had the boat in spot lock. He worked it for at least an hour. And as we all know spot lock is not exactly steady. I decided I was too old after seeing that.
