I always go to the FM-830 public ramp. It can be a zoo on the weekends at that ramp, so bring a lawn chair and a beer after you get your boat loaded up. All of the other ramps are privately owned and I'm sorry, I'm not paying someone $20 to use their concrete slab. That is asinine. Their ramp fees on that lake are crazy ; which is why the 830 public ramp gets really crowded.

Sooner or later at the 830 ramp you will get your window broken out or stuff stolen.

I didn’t know Scott’s Ridge was $5. Probably start going over there then. All I know is April Plaza and those marinas on the south end are ridiculous

Two women tried to break a window in my truck at the 830; a woman yelled at them and the c@#ts keyed my truck in aggravation.

The only problem with Scott's Ridge is that there is no courtesy dock.

For $30 you can get an annual pass that is good at Cagle and Scotts ridge
If your recreation plans include visits to the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas, the Kisatchie National Forest in Louisiana, or nearby Army Corps of Engineers Sites, then the NFGT Annual Day-Use Pass may be the right choice for you.

The pass costs $30 and entitles you to unlimited day use in participating fee areas forest-wide for one year from month of issue.

Recreation day-use fee areas in the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas (NFGT) include picnic areas, swim beaches, and boat launches.

Interagency Senior Pass and Interagency Access Pass holders are eligible for a 50% discount towards ONE of the National Forest and Grasslands in Texas Annual Day-Use Pass.

Another vote for Scott's Ridge. One nice item at Scott's ridge if you don't have the annual pass, it has an electronic pay station. Quick and easy. No envelope to fill out like Cagle. It will be quickest from Brenham. But, if it's windy Stowaway is nice, and less of a zoo vs April Plaza, which is also good with a high south wind.

It’s $15 at Stow-A-Way. They do have some annual options if you’re a regular user.

It has gotten expensive up there. The marinas on the south end plan to go private, members only, when they have enough members.
Someday the only public access will be FM 830, Stow-A-Way, Cagle and Scotts Ridge.

$15 is fair. They have to maintain the ramp, concrete of the parking lot and other parking. They could probably make more money turning the grass parking into a larger RV park.

The river authority needs to make the no wake area go all the way across Caney Creek in front of the Scott's Ridge boat ramp. If you are fishing by yourself you can't hardly put your boat on the bulkhead to go get your truck and trailer without a wake boat or large cruiser coming by and throwing a 3 foot swell into your boat and the bulkhead.

It should be no wake from the ramp all the way to the back of the creek.
