Carp have been active this spring both in the hill country and Southcentral Texas. Fished some creeks and rivers and caught a bunch. Rigged up two poles with some light sinkers and small hooks. Chummed the waters with cream corn, can corn, and canned Hominy. Both Corn and Hominy was used for bait. Seemed the best bite was between sunup till around 11am. I also took advantage of the overcast days. Most of the fish were released but a couple were kept for the wife to prepare for some upcoming dinners. Catching some of the BEST Fighters! It just don't get any better!

Nice work sir. I really enjoy catching carp. Now if we could just get you guys some rain things should improve all over.

Thanks Curt0407 for the reply. Yes Sir we can use a lot of RAIN. So far late winter and the early spring we have had some nice showers, but not enough. The water bodies and areas I fish have improved, but need a lot more water. Hopefully we get a lot more before the summer sets in.

Thanks Fishbonz and rickt300 for the replies. Rickt300: Yes Sir, like I have mentioned before. I never ate a carp until I met my wife a couple of years ago. She is one GREAT cook. Carp when caught in clean water with good currents are really good table fare, especially when they are grilled on the half shell or baked!
