Had a trip planned with Doc today, but he didn't want to go in such crummy conditions...wind 10-20 with gusts 30+ ...This was my only chance to go this week so just sucked it up. If you know your lake there are usually areas that are fishable with wind breaks...that is the case on FCL.. On the plus side the lake is not crowded at all... only me and a few other fools. Anyway...got to the lake before daybreak & fished until 12:30 when it really started howling. Could only fish 2 sunfish spots & ended up with 52...around half of those were giants. On the bass side ended up with 15...some decent ones, but no bigs. Water temp was 79 - 82 in the areas I fished & the lake is at it's normal full pool. Already looking forward to next week & hoping for a little wind help...

Beautiful gills. Those are some healthy looking fish.

Solid post and fish as always Steve. Good job under some tough conditions.


Side Note: Looks like some windy weather ahead according to the forecasters. I am also hoping for some RAIN. (The famous Raindance).

Awesome Fish and you sure look to be close to the reeds.

I sure hope we get some calm days soon. I can't challenge that lake in my kayak.

PS: I see you snookered your wife. I have to go twice this week because it will be too windy next week. And yet, here you are

Thanks guys...Jamie...They are "close" to the reeds in that area...but I was mainly using the reeds as a wind break & casting straight out. Not saying they are not in there, but I never gave it a try...will next time. Also...my wife doesn't mind at all when I go fishing...she prolly appreciates the vacation days when I'm away.

The wind has been a problem over here as well. I'm pretty much sick of it.

Thanks Yesenia...Roland Martin always used to say when fishing tournaments..."You put the weather out of your mind" & concentrate on the fishing. So that was always the joke with my fishing buddy when we would go & it would be freezing cold, pouring rain or wind gusts to 40 mph...just put it out of your mind & fish! ...ha ha...easier said than done...
