Are they Carpenter Ants? I had these in my bathroom. The bathroom was on an outside wall. Some mornings I would see a few in the shower and every now and then there would be hundreds of them in the shower. I figured if I kept spraying the ones I could see, They would disappear. After 2 years, I finally had to take the trim off on top of the shower, drill holes and spray Bifen in the walls! I even took the vent off of the eve outside and sprayed in the ceiling. Before I put the trim back on, I put Boric Acid in the walls and I haven't seen one bug in 5years!

They will take it back to the nest and kill everything in it including the queen. It works for roaches as well. We had a bad roach problem when we moved into an apartment one time. I put borax powder out all around the appliances in the kitchen and in 2-3 days I started finding them dead everywhere. On the forth day when I got home there were two roaches at the front door trying to get out. No Bull$hit!
