I keep telling you guys...Appendix carry.
Not too many people are gonna grab towards your balls. Street honor I guess. Can't look like a fruit to the homies. I don't carry. If I did I think I'd go go this route. Seems much simpler and faster to get the weapon out when/if needed. Unless your a big guy. You say'in package size prevents this carry option? More like the dulop.

It works for some but not all. Beaver tail on a 1911 does not lend itself to front carry. And I’m not going to lower my standards to carry differently. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ibb.co/bd5tPJB/Para-1911.jpg)

Making sure everything is sliding into place with that tight Match chamber? One thing about appendix carry. The firearm will get sweaty. It's up against your belly, and every area not covered by the holster, is getting salty sweat. Making you inspect the weapon more. On a hot day the holster will get soaked. The one big negative to Appendix carry.

You gotta do what works for you. The most important thing in a gun fight is to have a gun. Any other discussion can only follow after that statement.
Then the argument starts with caliber or capacity. Each side is convinced the other side is wrong and can give “facts” and numbers to prove their position.

Im not gonna criticize anybody that does it all I’m gonna say it draws unnecessary attention to yourself. I just like the element of surprise.

All of us kids were taught by our crusty great uncle, who was a retired Texas Ranger captain. A saltier old dude you’ll never meet.
He taught us all to be prepared. The cool head wins every time. What he beat into us was the rule of threes. 3 yards 3 rounds 3 seconds.
If you are prepared for the rule of three, you’re prepared. Can you easily pull your piece, get three on target rounds and do it in three seconds? Most can’t.

At 3 yards? You bet I can. Same at 8 yards. 15 yards, maybe a little slower. 20-25yards... All you need to do is ring the rather large steel target. Hit on target. There's no good place to get shot. Keep pulling the trigger until the threat stops. Plus, if you're having to engage a bad guy at 3 yards. There needs to be a discussion on why you let the target get that close. At 3 yards, you need to be more worried about a knife. The most probable reason Mr Bad guy closed the distance.

Each occasion calls for different approach for you to be ready to kill damit
If I’m just going to the gas station, Glock 48 hidden waist holster, chambered ready to breathe on that trigger in a gunfight
If I’m going to the grocery store, we gotta step it up. Much more danger. I go with the cross draw twin 357’s. Hammer back on both. Won’t catch me off guard. Hopefully I don’t blow some kid away by mistake leaning over to grab some potato chips but hey, I a will be ready by gosh.
Now if I’m going to the metro area, well that’s big time. I change out them 357’s for Glock 17”s with extended clips extra extended clips in the back pocket, and a 5.0 dessert eagle ankle strapped.
Sometimes before I go out I look in the mirror and spit some tobakkey juice in the sink and say a Clint Eastwood line just to get ready.

I prefer to carry consistently in one location so muscle memory enhances the efficiency of my presentation. Carrying concealed adds extra elements to the presentation, and in an "adrenaline draw" situation (Man, I sure hope I'm done with those, but you never know.......) you obviously want to get it right the first time. When I was working I always carried on my right hip (and always concealed when off duty) to mirror my on-duty carry position. Now that I'm retired I carry in an appendix rig 99.9% of the time. I had to quit carrying the 5" 1911s and the Staccato XC because the holster's muzzle would start digging into my groin after a while when driving. Due to the retirement / old age gut I'm slowly cultivating a short barrel tends to lever out and print, so the 3 1/2" barrel in my Detonics Combat Master won't work (for me) in the appendix rig. I got a 4" M&P 9C for EDC and fitted it with an Apex trigger, Holosun 507C, and a TLR-7A and carry it in a Tier 1 rig. If Sig had been making the P365 Fuse at the time I'da bought that; that pistol feels like it was born in my hand. Way different than my first generation P365.
Some things I've learned: If you're carrying concealed on your body (as opposed to using a bag or purse), it's gonna get sweaty no matter where you carry it when the weather's warm. It'll need regular PM. I have an old Tucker Custom pancake rig from the early 80's for the Detonics that was carried pretty much daily on my right hip for years. The back of it is black from sweat (but being a Tucker rig, it's still 100% functional). And if you're with your family, or in a crowd, and a "situation" arises, your best option will likely be to just be a good witness, and that's a whole lot easier to accomplish when your weapon is concealed and not drawing attention to you. Carrying openly means giving up a huge tactical advantage. And thinking that having a weapon on your hip in plain sight means that nobody would dare mess with you is a naive rookie mistake.
I don't hate open carry; if you want to do it it's your right. But you're giving up a huge tactical advantage when doing so in most places. Out at the ranch it's fine, but in Walmart or Whataburger it's a poor tactical decision, and in a fancy restaurant or at the opera it's just plain poor etiquette.

Open carry = 1st targeted That makes zero sense- and it’s never happened in real life. I don’t open carry in urban areas, but to each his own. A thug coming in to rob a place has tunnel vision for the most part, they are trying to get in and get out.

See people say that all the time but I have not seen a case where a bad guy walks into say a store to rob and notices a guy with a gun and pops him. They are not looking that close. Its urban legend if you ask me.
