The family wants to go fish PK tomorrow, has anyone been the last couple of days since the rain and new water? Any pointers would be appreciated. Will not be live bait fishing, lures (slabs) only. TIA

I have not, however, passed over Brazos and I-20 on Tuesday. The water was flowing ,full of debris and chocolate . This is a strong indicator gates are open from PK . IDK how much discharge, someone will chime in and tout !!

Here is a great website to see what the DFW area lakes are doing. Release rates, variance vs conservation pool. PK is only letting out 1/2 of what they were yesterday. Multiply CFS x 7.48 x 60 to get gallons per minute. PK is currently at ~3,520,000 gallons a minute! USACE Ft Worth Area Lakes

Was out there two weeks ago for 6 days. Every evening the sand bass would school around the state park area.. then id get up land out on the lake before sun up , at the first hint of light for 6 days I saw the biggest shad spawns I’ve seen on any lake . There were millions of them. Been on pk since 1997. It was wild the amount of shad there were. Still caught fish. Was a few striper mixed in the sand bass. Would catch one every cast till the sun got just above the ridge. Entertains to say the least, catching is always fun

No pics, was fishing alone. I was bass fishing and the sand bass would blow up all around me. Every morning in the same general area. So I’d throw a rooster tail (1/4 oz ) . Did keep any, all released .
