Following up on Zanes sore shoulder post from Monday...went yesterday & had a stellar day. Got to the lake 20 minutes b4 sunrise & fished until 2:30. Only 5 boats in the parking lot when I arrived, but quite a few showing up as I departed the ramp. The sky was clear blue at 1st, then after about an hour, the fog rolled in & stuck around for about an hour...weird!. The water temp was between 78 & 82 in the various spots I fished and increased as the day progressed.

Ended up with 24 bass & 60 sunfish. I caught 20 sunfish off of 3 different spots...2 that Zane mentioned & a third that usually does not start this early. I was really surprised to find them there. My 2 favorite spots still have nothing but have high hopes for the coming weeks. The bass are in a feeding frenzy right now due to the recent shad spawn. They're gorging themselves in recovery from their spawn. Most were in the 2-3 pound range, but did get big # 14 for the year at 5 pounds 1 ounce.

Choclabdog (aka Alan) has a farm near the lake, and got 3 inches of rain last night. Here in New Braunfels we got inch last night & 1 inch a few days ago. ...Keep it coming !

Jamie...Also had 4 that were .99 & .98...I don't fish the reeds anymore, but I will say that they were in the spot I told u about last year...All the red ear came from that spot as well...

Barry...The interesting thing about that photo...It's not the hookset on the big in the next 2 pics...It's a pic of a bass that hit really close to the boat when I was bringing the jig up and all I could do was react. Having the Go Pro on sometimes catches some interesting stuff...and when they are feeding on shad you need to be ready at all times!
