i will be going down to Galveston with a group of friends in about 3 weeks and we planned on doing some surf fishing for sharks or really anything that bites. Looking for suggestions on baits that work well this time of year or just a general area to try out along the beach

Look in the video section and find videos of Killerbee outdoors. He fishes Bolivar I think and has a lot of luck with red, drum and shark. Or follow his youtube channel. He has a lot of tips and tricks for fishing down there. https://www.youtube.com/@KillerBeeOutdoors

Hopefully the seaweed is gone by then. Matagorda beach is socked-in with the seaweed right now. I'd imagine it runs up to Bolivar as well.
