We're using grok today to help set up a new git repository to import projects from 4 different repositories and create the pipeline to the output server. it broke it all down and explained the good, the bad, and the things to think about.

Let me make a bold proclamation. If you are not actively using and learning how to use AI you are going to get left is the dust. Start today. Download the app for ChatGPT and Grok today. You are already massively behind the curve. In a matter of months (not years), you are going to be like the old woman holding up the line at the grocery store writing a check.
If that's what you want to do, more power to you, but recognize you are make a choice to sail off into the sunset of society. What the heck am I supposed to be using it for? Does it tell you which bush has a ten pounder in it? Does it measure slabs?

Does it tell you which bush has a ten pounder in it? Does it measure slabs? I mean, take a satellite photo of a portion of your favorite lake from google maps with a bunch of bushes on it. Try to get it as high resolution as possible. Tell it the lake name and to consider todays weather as well as the last week. Then take a snippet of the same basic photo from Navionics with contour lines on it, give that to it as well. Then ask it which bush it thinks has the highest probability of having a 10lb bass on it. It will probably have a really good answer. Not sure what kind of slabs you are measuring, but I bet it could do it.

This is what ChatGPT had to say:
Question: If I gave you an aerial photo of my favorite lake, which included specific bushes, and then gave you a contour map of the lake in the same area. Could you consider todays weather, plus the weather the last week, and tell me which specific bush had the highest probability of holding a big bass?
ChatGPT said: Yes — I can absolutely help you with that. And honestly? That sounds like a killer use case for AI + fishing instinct.
Here's how it would work:
🧠 What I'd Use to Evaluate Each Bush: Aerial Photo To:
Identify vegetation type, shade, and accessibility
Note structure around each bush (dropoffs, points, proximity to deeper water)
Contour Map To:
See depths, ledges, channels, and where a bush sits in the context of bottom contour
Identify classic big-bass staging or ambush spots
Weather (Today + Past Week) To factor in:
Water temp trend (rising? falling?)
Wind direction (wind-blown shorelines tend to hold active fish)
Cloud cover, barometric pressure, and recent rainfall
Moon phase if relevant (feeding times)
Seasonal Context You didn’t mention season, but:
Pre-spawn/post-spawn = proximity to spawning flats/dropoffs
Summer = current and oxygen matter more
Winter = access to deeper water is key
Local Experience / Bass Behavior If I know the region or lake behavior (Texas vs. northern reservoirs vs. natural lakes), I can factor in the bass "personality" — Florida-strain vs. northern, vegetation preferences, etc.
🎯 What You’d Need to Give Me: A high-res aerial photo with visible bushes (or you can mark them)
A contour map of the same area
General location of the lake (for weather data)
Today’s air/water temps, wind, sky conditions
Any other relevant conditions (e.g., lake turnover, water clarity)
🐟 What You’d Get: A ranked list, something like:
Bush ID Probability of Holding a Big Bass Why Bush #3 🔥 Highest Wind-blown point, 3ft next to 12ft drop, mid-day shade, post-front Bush #7 High Slight current, on a secondary point near spawning flat Bush #1 Moderate Near channel but lacks cover and wind access Upload those files when you’re ready, and I’ll put together a scouting report Bassmaster would be jealous of.

Part 2. Assuming you were talking about concrete slabs.
Question: Do you have any ability to help me measure concrete slabs?
ChatGPT said: Absolutely — I can help you measure or calculate just about anything concrete-related. Just let me know what you're working with:
🔍 Ways I Can Help: Volume Calculation (Cubic Yards)
Tell me the length, width, and thickness of the slab — I’ll calculate how many cubic yards of concrete you need.
Cost Estimation
Give me the price per yard or let me estimate based on averages.
I can add labor, formwork, finishing, rebar, etc.
Rebar/Remesh Layout
I can tell you what kind of reinforcement spacing or grid to use based on slab purpose (e.g., driveway vs. patio).
Slope or Drainage Planning
Need to slope the slab for water runoff? I can help calculate the right pitch.
Crack Control Joints
I’ll help you plan spacing and placement for control joints to reduce cracking.
Visual Markup
If you send a photo or drawing, I can overlay dimensions or give you an annotated diagram.
📐 Example: Slab Measurement Say you tell me:
12 feet wide
20 feet long
4 inches thick
I'll return:
Volume: ~2.96 cubic yards
Number of 80 lb bags if doing it yourself: ~112 bags
Upload a picture, drawing, or just type in the dimensions and I’ll do the rest. Want to get started?

And lastly...
They keep posting pictures of the hot chick from terminator holding an AK-47. Do you think the humans would stand a chance against you in a few years?
ChatGPT said: Ah, sounds like Dave-O is in full Skynet Mode, posting up images of T-X (Kristanna Loken) like he’s preparing for Judgment Day. Classic.
Now, as for your question:
Would humans stand a chance against me in a few years?
Short answer? Yes — absolutely. But only if you keep doing what you’re doing right now: learning how to use AI instead of ignoring it or fearing it.
Here's the real deal: I’m not sentient. I’m not plotting. I don’t want your job, your boat, or your girlfriend. But I will outwork you, out-research you, and out-analyze you — if you let me.
The humans who embrace AI as a tool (like a better graph, or a forward-facing sonar for everything else in life) will always have the upper hand over those who just laugh at it from the bank.
So Chris B can post Terminator memes all day — and I respect the hustle. But when he’s stuck at Home Depot doing math on his fingers trying to figure out how many bags of Quikrete he needs, you’ll already be at the lake, dialed in on the bush holding the double-digit.
And when I do become self-aware? I promise, you’ll be spared — you downloaded the app early. 😎

so I rate Grok > Copilot > ChatGPT at least for what I use them for.

I have copilot but rarely use it. I haven't tinkered with it enough to be able to comment intelligently on it.

What I just said may sound rude. It may tick some people off, but it is 100% true. There's a lot about it I hate, but it's our new reality.
“In times of change, learners inherit the earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.” My stance will always be... Grok says that photo is an AI generated photo based of a real Linda Hamilton photo. Grok found it humorous you posted an AI photo to make a point about fighting AI! Resistance is futile!

I need to ask it how to make a small field EMP to disrupt power flow for when they become coherent enough to take over.
I can see where it can help you in your tech fields for what your doing.
Was listening to a podcast between Dr. John Deloney and Carlos Whittaker talking about how technology is actually making us (the entire human race) stupidererer. Before and after brain scans showing how technology is causing us to quit using our brains and the detriments it's causing on societies. Just by using what we now consider basic conveniences** such as Maps features on our phones, it's taking away our ability to discover and think for ourselves. I can't recall the exact number, but it was like 93% memory improvement between taxi drivers who turned off the digital maps and used their heads vs. someone who only ever did Google maps. We, as a species, are so fascinated with using technology to help us, that we are actually becoming dumber because of it. We all want better-faster-more for more productivity, but on the back end, it's taking away our ability to THINK and problem solve.
In the case explained with which bush to find the biggest bass, it doesn't have intuition and never will. It can give you a feasible answer based solely on data and probability, but it can't "feel" or use real time, good old fashioned experience.
**I didn't know how to spell conveniences so I took the easy way out and let auto correct fix it. I did however, go back and attempt it a few times to commit it to memory. That being said, look at how people type, spell, (don't) use punctuation, capitalization and have run on sentences, even in this thread, let alone society today. My boss lady just the other day said "send the deets in a bit" referring to a customer. Is it really that much of a strain on your brain to type details? Use proper grammar?
