I've seen the length photo of this fish also and it is 22 inches long with the mouth open, so probably closer to 21" with the proper measurement. It definitely doesn't seem to have the girth needed to push 9 pounds with only being ~21.5 inches long...Some of those Bois D'arc fish are obese and will be that heavy while being short, but this one doesn't seem to look right. Who is this guy trying to convince? Just Google 8 pound bass, that will yield many photos of fish that are substantially larger than that one.

edit: Just saw it's 22" long, so I'll say closer to 4.75 (it's skinny) but maybe 5 lbs.
