Military rounds such as the 7.62mm are illegal in Mexico. Those boxes better not say, "Lake City" anywhere on them. Those boxed lots of ammo isn't sold at Academy either. Nor Wal-Mart.

Maybe thinking they were gonna sue American firearm makers was a half a burrito idea.

They had Visas and were here to do a little tourism and shopping.

Current price for Lake City 7.62 is $1.25 each. 100 round lots.

I thought you said those weren’t for sale

I don't have a 308 nor a 7.62. And if I did, it wouldn't be Lake City. Not comfortable to shoot because it's pretty hot. And...it's not all that accurate. Steel core ammo is banned at the local range.

The ammo they're transporting is war ammo.

Trump just put the military along the border. That's pretty drastic for a bunch of poor Mexicans. Now, this shipment was busted. I'm sure there were ten more they missed.

Was just at a training seminar with FBI & ATF about weapons trafficking into Mexico. Very eye-opening on the volume of firearms and ammo that cross into Mexico from the US, mostly throguh 'straw man' purchasers.

Unfortunately, this kind of **** is what leads retailers to put purchase restrictions on ammo for US citizens.

I don’t believe you can purchase LC ammo in 7.62 x 39.

Lake city is just a military ammo plant operated by Winchester, known for making descent ammo with quality brass that reloaders appreciate. My M1 loves LC reloads.

News to me. Plenty of 7.62 x 51/.308, don’t think I’ve seen 7.62x39, did the mil start using ak-47s?

Winchester took that plant over in 2020, but I don’t see anywhere from a reliable source that they make 7.62x39 there. Since it’s a plant that is used primarily to supply the military, I’m going to keep my opinion that what you showed is fake.

It doesn’t show LC stamped on the case, which most LC ammo shows, because that’s what reloaders want.

The military isn’t shooting steel cases, and they aren’t making steel
Cases at lake city, unless somehow has real proof otherwise.
