It's supposed to be good for soreness after lifting so I ordered a plunge tank and the built this around it. It has 1" sheet polyethylene all around it for insulation and it seems to be working pretty good.

Used it three times this weekend and it seems to help. Who else uses a cold plunge tank?

I tried the cryo chamber a few times and really never felt it made a huge difference. Not sure if it is comparable, but the cryo thing was damn cold.

My son does it, but he’s a 20 yr old college athlete and his strength/conditioning coach makes him do it.

I tried to insulate as best as I could.

After I filled it, I put 20lbs of ice in there for the first plunge, Next day I only added 5 lbs of ice and it got pretty damn cold for that plunge. I ordered a floating pool thermometer but hadn't got it so don't know what degrees it was sitting at. I got it last night and it read 62 degrees after 18 hours of no ice added so I think I can get it in the 40's with some frozen water jugs.

Yesterday I just had a conversation with a friend that lives in S Carolina. He has been doing this since he had bypass surgery and swears by it. Says it makes him feel great.

He caught his heart issues before an attack. It really set him back. He has stopped drinking, eating better, and lifting weights along with sitting in a sauna and taking regular plunges. I think the whole thing scared the [censored] out of him.
