I put 100k in nvda, appl, and qqqx last 10 days. I like my entry point and I'm sure in 5 years I'll be pleased. You did what you are supposed to do an bought the dip. Pat yourself on the back.

Possibly but 99.9 percent of time you won't catch dead bottom or the tip top. The game is rigged against the poor retail investor and we live off scraps the the institution let's us have.

Back when I joined NV, they gave me a nice salary and 10k options at $6 per. Stock was around $8 a share. Then, 9/11 happened. Share priced dropped to $3-5. Lots of hires were leaving, so NV said they would give you 3000 shares outright for 10k options. Stock sunk to about $4 and stayed there so I sold all of it.

I decided to leave all the shares purchased through employee purchase alone for the next 23 years. A large chunk of it was purchased at $8-12 and have been through 2/1, 3/2, 2/1, 4/1 and 10/1 splits.

Now, enjoying the retired life even though the portfolio is down 27%.

Could be, but timing is a biotch. For some perspective, NVIDIA was at 84 and change a year ago. It closed around 101 yesterday. From a YTD view, it hasn't done poorly.
