A Canadian man seeking surgery for a workplace-related injury was denied, while forms for requesting 'medical assistance in dying' were immediately granted to him. The Euthanasia Prevention Coalition (EPC) republished the shocking story, originally posted at Canadian veteran Kelsi Sheren's personal blog. The man in question believed the Canadian healthcare system would offer him 'medical assistance in dying' (MAiD) before agreeing to surgery, and he was correct. He received the forms for MAiD immediately and was denied surgery. "Today I received a photo and post from a Dr friend of mine, who pointed out the most wild case of MAiD overreach I've seen in a while, and to be frank there has been several a day," Sheren wrote. https://www.wnd.com/2025/04/man-denied-surgery-for-work-injury-then-offered-help-in-killing-himself/

It is scary how close this country dodged going off rails. Thankfully the weirdos day of protest yesterday was a flop, 11 million people? MAYBE 1500 nationwide!
I prefer peace. But if trouble must come let it come in my time. So that my children may live in peace

Spent a lot of time up there, particularly in. BC.... have had many students from up there over the years. I've watched their attitude about their healthcare system do a 180° over the past 35 years....same for their government, taxes, etc etc etc.

No one raves about the healthcare.

I’m headed to BC in a few months- they crack me up with there attitude of guns down here. They picture our street corners looking like a bazaar in the Middle East where you can pick up a ak47 and RPG with your groceries.

Way back in about '95 I went to dinner with about 4 or 5 very successful Canucks. After a bottle or two of wine they started ragging on firearms and Texas, etc. You could tell they were heavily influenced by Hollywood....westerns and Boyz n the Hood, etc. They literally thought most good folks in TX had two six shooters strapped to their hips or a 12ga laying over their shoulder when they walked in to buy beer and pay for their gas.... hehehe

I constantly told a Canadian friend who had been here since 1993 that you could not walk into a gun store and buy a machine gun and he was adamant you he could.

My wife was denied drugs this week by united Healthcare. Her doctor of 20 years prescribed them, and she was denied in 15 min from a "panel of doctors". She appealed the decision and got all the information of this panel. She lost her appeal and the only doctor on the panel is a dermatologist. The medication is for weight loss, not for skin care. The only way she can qualify is if she has a heart attack . Our system sucks as bad as any other, probably more.

Belton had one doctor in town. He charged around $14 and later years something like $25. The wait was hours. First come first served. So he saw people in order of arrival.
The visit would take 15minutes. And he was amazing. Old school Navy doctor. No matter what was up with you. He fixed it in one visit.
His name was Dr Long. Then he finally retired and the entire world went to insurance to see a doctor.
Dr Long was famous. I got many a stitch by his hands. An original, "hometown doctor".

It's already happening here in the U.S. Some insurance company,s are denying coverage where I work. This happens as an outpatient. If the patient is admitted they pay. It cost the insurance company more money this way. It's hard to explain.

I won’t pretend to know what conditions your wife has, but weight loss is as much a function of how many calories you consume for 99.9 percent of the population
