Copied from the other forum.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that Joey M. Broom, 58, was killed on his Center Console vessel, which was hit by a Nitro Bass Boat, local Fox affiliate WBRC reported.

I assume this was the Toyota series wreck.

Just saw this where grout found his.

SMITH LAKE UPDATE: From ALEA… death toll is three.
“John K. Clark, 44, of Cullman and Jeffrey C. Little, 62, of Brandon, Miss., who were both onboard the Center Console vessel involved in this morning’s crash, were thrown overboard during the incident. Both individuals drowned and have been pronounced deceased. However, their bodies were recovered near the Miller Flats area of Smith Lake in Cullman County.”
And, the update from earlier this afternoon
“A two-vessel crash that occurred at approximately 7:03 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, and has claimed the life of an Altoona man. Joey M. Broom, 58, was fatally injured when the Center Console vessel he was onboard was struck by a Nitro Bass Boat. Broom was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred near the Miller Flats area of Smith Lake in Cullman County.”
Troopers with ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division are still actively investigating this incident and as additional information becomes available, we will be sure and pass it along.”

Yup 3 gone because of driving full speed in the fog. Wrong on so many levels. It’s just a fish.

What are you justifying it? And your percentage I’m betting is high.

Yep. This one is going to change the way some tournament trails do things.

Absolutely. Make no mistake. We saw some major changes after the Big O drowning. This will 100% changes the scope for "Pro" tournament bass fishing, at least at these minor league levels with large fields. Maybe we will see a field cap or a reduction. We will definitely see more cancellations, which we are seeing more than ever before right now. I go back to "grow the sport", this is what you get. More people who only care about winning, more accidents, more restrictions. They are coming.

It could be worse. Not many sporting activities are held on public resources amid unaware general public.

Wouldn’t you be surprised to be driving down your back country road, cruising along, and get t-boned by a race car? I know it isn’t quite the same, but the premise is the same. The general public is put at risk by having large group of anglers flying around the lake on a mission. I bet the striper guide felt perfectly safe with his clients, till he wasn’t.

It’s sad. It also a pastime that I involve myself with several times a week. I’d hate to have my favorite pastime jeopardized by things like this.

Eat. Sleep. Fish.

Yes, just some common sense and patience would prevent so many accidents on land or water.
