I have to claim single, no dependents and withhold a couple extra hundred bucks just to break even. I swear 40 cents of every dollar goes to support democrats, illegals and scammers.

I get no tax break for charitable donations.

Just claim a reasonable amount based on income.

I think you have to itemize. I get no breaks. Don't get to claim the granddaughters I'm raising. Can't claim my son as a dependent, nor claim his college tuition. 40 cents may be right.

If you withhold and/or make estimated payments that are equal to or exceed 100% (or 110% depending on income level) of your prior year tax liability you will not incur an underpayment penalty.

Take it to a highly rated cpa and let them do it. I bet you'll come out ahead after your fee to the cpa.

Paid more than I can remember this year.
Not sure why as it seems groceries were astronomical this year. Tough year to have a couple of high schoolers and a 10 year old.
I take out 70 bucks a check on top of what the company holds. I am gonna have to up that to 100.

The same thing happened to me the first year I worked here. I talked to my payroll people about paying more every month. I have my withholding dialed well enough now that I only have to pay around $400 in April. The much smaller pay checks take some getting used to, but there is no free lunch.

Best thing conservatives could do is get rid of withholding and make folks write a check for their taxes in April. Democrats would never hold public office again.

I'm for a local/state/federal sales tax. Get rid of the IRS and tax returns. Let the states collect. You spend it, they send it.
