Want to go fishing this friday but the wind looks to be fairly heavy. Wanted to see if i could get some suggestions on lakes that would have decent/good areas to fish and get coverage from the south wind.

i am in south fort worth willing to drive to most lakes within the dallas fort worth area

Texoma - Big Rocky Bluffs
Fork - lots of coves
Palestine - creek arms
Crockett (Small)
Athens (Small)
Possum Kingdom - Riverine & Bluffs

There's many more... what kind of fishing do you want to do?

You can thank me for the heavy wind. Iโ€™m going to be on Houston County Thursday-Sunday. Any time my boat even looks like itโ€™s gonna move, the wind report changes to 30mph gusts

Find a long skinny river lake like Belton or Granbury, you can also go small like some of the state park lakes

Pick just about any lake you want. Put in on the south side of the lake. Stay on the south side of the lake. hmmm

Lake Worth....a lot of it runs East/West and it doubles back on itself forming natural wind current breaks, especially the northern section of the lake.

Not Ray Roberts. Nasty with a south wind unless you launch and fish around Buck Creek.

Or you fish the dam or Sanger marina. That's about it.

Lots of good fish to be had at that marina....Plus you can see all the tornado damage from a year ago

Bob Sandlin is a good lake for south wind. Lake runs East and West. You'll have to fish the south shore. Lots of places to fish on the south shore.
