No. Think of El Mexico as a state. 51 star. Canada is 52. Greenland....53.

You know the Rio Grande isn’t the only place Mexico gets water from the U.S.

Some may not know that there are two discharges for Lake Falcon. Back in the late 90's, the Mexico side stayed open non-stop. There were times when it was hard to launch because the ramps were out of the water. But the gates never closed on the South side. Just peeing into the wind on this one. It only causes political wars on the lakes. Mexico gill net fishermen were harassed, so Mexico made it difficult for US fisherman to fish the Mexico side. They required you come across the border to get a license. I heard that at the time, Mexico would pull up and chain your boat to theirs before handling the license checks. Many would just haul butt if it looked like they were in the area. This would go back and forth between the two sides non-stop. As crazy as it sounds, those fish on the mexico side dight better ... We can't close their side of the dam, and they don't give a darn what we want. The farmers down stream were always going to get the water. When we would be chewing the fat at the hotel at night, you could hear the steady purr of small boats crossing the lake. I love the little town of Zapata, absolutely was an amazing place to visit (IMO) in the 90's. It got sketchy as the years progressed, and I didn't fish it as much as I would have liked. One day I'll go back and dip my toe into the Garden of Eden for Bass fishing. Those fish have some shoulders! Yes both sides have generating capabilities.
I have fished here since I was a kid and I have had zero problems. I do know others that have. But as far as Zapata goes, this is the most chill town in Texas.. You come here and go fishing and mind your own business, you got no problems.
And I Challege you to find any graffiti in this town.
Yall are missing out on some great fishing if you haven't been here this year.
One of my buddies fished five days this week and had 254 fish.. (2 men in boat)

Trump is going to work to keep Mexico mostly in line. Joe wouldn’t even try. Trump isn’t big on getting screwed around. He will deal with it when he thinks the US is getting screwed.

Saw this AM that they started to release water from Amistad.. Not sure who's doing what..
I don't want water from Amistad.. I want water that comes out of Mexico..
But I know there is not much in Mexico to give..
We'll see where this leads..
Not for sure but it is likely Mexico is ceding water to US that it owns in Amistad.. But just a guess..

mexico has always taken advantage of the water treaty an the past politicians have sided with mexico because they were a poor third world country it was either give them water or feed them an the us has done both for many years we can only hope that the current administration with the america first program will get some of this taken care of. mexico is a mess because they have laws but the thugs an cartels run the country it like pretty much everything else the american taxpayers build the infrasturcture like dams an canals an give it over to corrupt govts who turn around an screw the american taxpayers.

They owe Texas around 100 million gallons, correct? That should warrant the president's plan to make them give it up in one way or another but who knows. He will have to start sanctioning officials down there before they care. The pain has to be bad enough to affect their fentanyl money. Which is a lot

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip! #Brockstarama
