Somehow, my elderly father’s bedroom has become infested with bedbugs. I’m not sure how it happened but they are there. We set off 3 big bombs today and will probably do it again tomorrow but from what I hear, that won’t get them all and they will be back. I will drag the mattress out tomorrow and get a new one and will vacuum the carpet and will probably set off more bombs on Monday.

How do you get rid of them for good?

From what I hear, they are very difficult to get rid of. You may have to get a professional out there. $$$

Completely soak it with neem oil. Use a sprayer.

Can you set up a demilitarized zone of say 5 feet, set his room on fire and hit anything trying to escape with Black Flag?

Subsequent to that release multiple bombs in the rest of the household for the next 5 days.

Also burn anything made of fabric... Even your sweet fruit of the loom tighty whities.

That'll get them.

You might have to completely replace any form of cloth within the room all together. Clothes, bedding, carpet, curtains, etc... I'm not certain on this though.

Ditch the mattress tape off the door cracks . Don’t [censored] with that room and call a professional. They will put torpedo heaters in there and burn them out .

And when you ditch the mattress get it as far away from your house as fast as you can don’t throw it in the bed of the truck and take it tomorrow.

Man...the stories I could tell from the apartments.

Go to Do You Own Pest Control and search for bed bug treatments. They are a mofo to get rid of. One way you can do it is to raise the temp of the room to like 130 degrees and that will kill them off.
I can't remember the specific chems we used, but there was a sprayer and powder you put into a puffer to treat wall sockets and switches. You need to get the poison into the walls as well. Get a mattress bag for the mattress so you can contain them in there and kill those.
You will literally have to tear the room apart to truly get rid of them. Pull the drawers out of the furniture, mirrors/pictures/artwork off the walls, treat the clothes and wash them. Attack with vigor and show no quarter. And you can not do this in one treatment.

Damn dude, sorry to hear. Hope your dad is alright. Those lil (AHEM) spread like wild fire so knock them the (AHEM) out. One tenant in an apartment get them, the whole damn building gets treated.

Look up Bed Bug heat treatments. You'll find some good info on it. I remember having to drill a hole in the wall in between each of the studs and puffing that powder in the walls. Spraying the entire room with chems, taking off cover plates and light fixtures to treat stuff. So glad I don't work there any more.

Ok. What the hell is a bed bug? I had a girl give me crabs in highschool. Is that similar? Can’t just shave the room? Haha

Throw away as much as you can and hire a reputable pest control company
