In 1962 Duncanville was Axle8 or AX8 and became 298.

late 40’s/early 50’s our number was 3608 no prefix and we were on party line with 6 or 8 others….funny how I can remember a number from 60 yesrs ago but can’t remember what I had for supper last night….

Webster. WE5-2170. Our first phone number when I was a kid was 3628. That was it, just dial the four digits. Later it was the five digit 5-2170 number.
